What is Batting for Betty?
Batting for Betty began as a grassroots effort between friends and has blossomed into a great event. The inspiration to fundraise for the fight against breast cancer came back in 2010 because of New Kids on the Block member Danny Wood. His mother Betty lost her fight & he carries her memory on through fundraising efforts and his Remember Betty Foundation.
Without a cure, 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among U.S. women. More then 1 in 4 cases of cancer are Breast Cancer. Over the next 25 years, an estimated 5 million Americans will be diagnosed with breast cancer & more than 1 million could die. The Remember Betty Foundation is helping the families affected by breast cancer to minimize the financial burden associated with breast cancer for patients and survivors.
Through Batting for Betty we can help strikeout breast cancer and save second base!
